About

Lydia Montuy

Hi!

I'm Lydia Montuy. In my life I have always loved fitness and felt like I was in control of my body. For crying out loud I competed in D1 college running. However, when I got pregnant I felt like I lost that control. My body was changing in ways that I never knew was possible. My proportions felt all off and I felt fat. I hated looking at myself because of all the changes that were happening in my body. I felt ashamed and I counted every calorie to make sure I didn't gain too much weight during my pregnancy so that I could go right back to how I looked before. I literally would feel awful if I ate what I was craving because it wasn't healthy or it was too much. It was a really hard time in my life in which I spent most of my time crying over how I looked and felt. I cried because I didn't feel like myself. I felt trapped by this morphed suit of what my body had become. I felt trapped by doubt and insecurities about being a mother. Pregnancy brought out the worst in me and I swore that I would never do something like that ever again. Then I had Amina. Literally from the moment I pulled her onto my chest I couldn't feel anything except pride and happiness! I couldn't believe my body had just done what it had. I had brought life into this world. All of the sudden I felt overwhelmingly grateful for my body and ashamed for the way I had treated it during pregnancy. After that day I swore that I never wanted another mom to feel this way, so I started holistic fitness coaching to help other moms that struggle during pregnancy and postpartum just like I had! I know that this time can be hard, but I promise that you will be alright and you are still beautiful no matter what changes! You may never feel the same again, but I promise you are 100x more beautiful and have found a strength in yourself that could have come no other way.

Now I have had my second. During this pregnancy I put into practice the things that I teach now. I decided that instead of focusing on my weight, focusing on how I felt led to better results. I didn’t count calories, but I did track what I ate. I found what things made me feel bloated, slow, energized, or healthy. I found the exercises that gave me energy and made me feel strong while eliminating the ones that created exhaustion and caused me to lose sight of what was really important. I dug deep and not only listened to my body but also learned to listen to myself and prioritize my time so that I could keep this lifestyle up even after adding another baby to the family. It has been a crazy ride adjusting to 2 kids while living a healthy lifestyle, but the greatest things I have learned and teach you is that consistency doesn’t mean perfection and that the smallest habits matter. If you are ready to get on track with your health as a busy mom and have a million excuses why not to then come join me on this journey as I teach you my tips and tricks!
